How do I market this thing? My memoir "Tasting Life Twice".

 Yes, it is finally done! Eight years of my life working to share my stories. Stories that I have told to friends many times. It has been quite a journey writing them down. You would be amazed at the memories that emerge when you write a memoir. 

This is my first attempt at writing and it would never have happened without all the wonderful women in my writing groups. Especially Clifford Henderson. She encouraged me and gave me the confidence to put my stories out there! 

I have written a couple of stories here that are not in the book. Mostly because they don't fit into the through line. I wanted it to be about food. Since that is mostly what my life has been focused on. 

It's funny when you tell friends you are writing your memoir they say things like, "Oh did you write the story about..."whatever. A story that stuck in their mind but the one I did not write about. So I used this platform to write more. 

Self publishing has been an adventure to be sure. Not a very good one but ultimately I got the book done. It is in print. Available on Amazon. But now I wonder how do I get it out to people who do not know me? How do I market this? No one teaches you this stuff they just say things like for another 5K we can take care of it for you. If I had endless amounts of cash of course I would hand it over to the experts... but I don't. So I sit here reading articles which make no sense to me at all about how to market the book. 

I am open to having someone help me with this and even throw in some cash but I don't have much more to contribute since I have retired and my income is sketchy. It cost me way more than I expected to get the dang thing published. But I did it!! 

I get very good feedback from those that pick it up and read it. Mostly from those who know me though. I am curious to hear from people that have no idea who I am or what life I have lived. 

I am just rambling on in hopes I will hear from someone who understands my dilemma and is willing to give me some advice. I am reading about doing a press release...to who? Put in on social media... did that and got a nice response from both friends and fans from the show I was on...now what? 

I've got to keep the ball rolling... not sure how. I've come a long way and want to keep going!
